Without Facebook advertising’s Look-A-Like (lookalike) Audiences…the platform would be MUCH less effective!
A Look-A-Like audience consists of a group of people that are very similar to another group of people.
When you create a Lookalike Audience, you choose a source audience (ex. a Custom Audience created with information pulled from the FB pixel, or your customer list upload, or people who watch your videos,…etc.). NOTE: See Quick Tip #4 for more information re. Custom Audiences
The Facebook/Instagram algorithm then identifies the common qualities of the people in this SOURCE AUDIENCE (for example, demographic information or interests)….then delivers your ad to an audience of people who are similar to these people, who “Look Like” your source audience.
Advertising to people that are very similar to your existing customers (aka, the Source Audience) is incredibly effective.
